Elohim- Sustainer

Yahweh-Revealer, covenant name with His people.

Adonai- He is Lord, sovereign master.

[which means submission from man]

El Elyon- God most high, signifies power

[If God possesses all things we need nothing from this world]

El Shaddai- God Almighty.

[All Power. All Sufficient. Sha-the one who is. ddai-sufficient. He guarantees His word. He guarantees His provision].

Jehovah Jireh- Lord will provide.

[Genesis 22. Abraham takes Isaac to be sacrificed. Provided literally means- to see (Jireh) before. God who sees everything before hand. 'We will never have a need that was not already known in the mind of God. Isn't that good news? You find out you have cancer. Isn't it good to know that God saw that beforehand. You find out an unexpcted tragedy is hitting your life, isn't it good to know that God sees before...The Lord will provide. The Lord sees before. He is Jehovah Jireh'-David Platt]

Jehovah Sabaoth- Lord of Hosts/Armies

[Spoken during hard, dark times. He conquerors every opposition]

Jehovah Rophe- The Lord who Heals

[He is the one who heals, restores, cures. He heals ULTIMATELY, heals for all of eternity]

Jehovah Nissi- The Lord is Banner

[A Banner: 1. Our identity. The one we revolve around. Unites us. 2. A pole of gathering. 3. A flag of victory]

Jehovah Mekadesh-The Lord who makes you Holy

[He sanctifies things. Makes them Holy. To set apart for divine use. In order for us to be Holy. He must make us Holy. Leviticus 20.8. 1 Peter 1.15-16]

Jehovah Shalom- The Lord is peace

[God is our complete peace. Fullness/rest]

Jehovah Tsidkenu- The Lord is Righteousness

[He demonstrates His righteousness. He also attributes His righteousness to us. 1 Corinth 1.30]

Jehovah Shammah- The Lord is there

[Ezekiel: not a pleasant picture, but at the end there is hope. Hope foretold=the presence of God will return to His temple, Ezekiel 37. Hope experienced, presence of God here in our lives, Acts 2 The Lord is here. Hope anticipated, when the presence of God will be our light forever, Revelation 22.1-5]

Jehovah Rohi- The Lord is my Shepherd.
