The way that I see people. The way that I see life. The way that I see conversations. The way that I see food. The way that I see the weather. The way that I see the Word of God. The way that I see the Body of Christ (the Church). The way that I see believers. The way that I see non-believers. The way that I see worship. The way that I see purpose. The way that I see hope. The way that I see love. The way that I see faith. The way that I see men. The way that I see women. The way that I see spiritual warfare. The way that I see prayer. The way that I see Christianity. The way that I see family. The way that I see friends. The way that I see community. The way that I see trust. The way that I see fellowship. The way that I see idols. The way that I see Hinduism. The way that I see Islam. The way that I see Buddhism. The way that I see strongholds. The way that I see sin. The way that I see perspective. The way that I see culture. The way that I see persecution. The way that I see God's plan. The way that I see how the Holy Spirit moves. The way that I see tears of joy. The way I see praise. The way I see wisdom. The way I see language barriers. The way that I see the gospel. The way that I see Jesus. The way that I see the Holy Spirit. The way that I see God the Father. The way that I see God.
You might read all of that and say, "Wow. Seems like it was a great trip or a great experience... it sounds like you had a great time... you got to see a lot of cool stuff.. you got to do a lot of neat things... you must have had some great conversations..."
But I would like to say confidently, that it was so much more than that. It was more than just an experience. It was more than just getting to see another culture. It was so much more than getting to have some great conversations with people. It was so much more than talking about cultural differences.
I would hate to even say or label what this trip was, in fear that it would truly de-value what exactly it was, but I think that the 'best' way to describe it would be: the Gospel.
And I have this fear, that for you, as you read this, that you have lost the sense of what exactly the gospel is. Or maybe you don't even know what the gospel is. But regardless, of where you are, I'm going to attempt to share the gospel with you over a unknown time period.
So stay tuned.

Crazy. The whole time I was reading this, I kept checking to make sure I wasn't on Jessica's blog... This was exactly what she said about Bali when we got together yesterday. I can NOT wait to read your updates!
