1. When walking through a crowd, people here do not practice the merge left game... they simply walk straight at you and make you play that game (alone).
2. So to solve number (1) above, I simply do not make eye contact with anyone in front of me and look deep deep deep in to the distance or off to the left or right, it seems to work quite well. Well, except I have definitely run into some people. (On accident of course...) (I sometimes wonder if people think that I look like a really 'spacey' person, you know?)
3. Like I've stated in a previous entry, people definitely think that I speak Chinese. And actually it's really surprising how many people think that I'm actually Chinese. (Chinese looking that is) (Strange). Well I know that people already in the States think that I look Chinese, but that's just because they are stereotypical and label people easily, but I'm talking about Chinese people think that I'm Chinese. (Like I said, strange)
4. It's really crazy how many Asian people are here. I know... "Duh, John you are in Hong Kong". I think that I knew that in the back of my head but I never really truly realized how many people (that are Asian) that are actually here. I guess in my head, I just assumed that I would see Asian people, just in passing you know, kind of like in the States, you'll see an Asian person here and there but won't really think much about it when you do or don't... I mean, there's truly (obviously) not a day that I don't go without seeing an Asian person. I guess I'm looking for a day here in Hong Kong where I don't see an Asian person (0 for 7, so far.. but still waiting to see...)
Speaking of Asians, here some food that I ate the other day.
Okay so maybe not really but here's some actual great food that I had on Christmas morning.
Pancakes provided by Mary Reading
Cinnamon Rolls made from scratch by the Deans
Sorry that my post have been so sporadic, be looking for another fine short by me soon... it'll be good, i promise.
