So I'm here in Hong Kong at last. After 39 hours of hanging out in airports and airplanes, I finally arrived here. I didn't realize it, but I was thinking about it, and it had been a really really long time since the last time I spent in an airport. I forgot about the joy of people watching. That's right I said it... I confessed... I am a people watcher in the airport, so you better watch out next time you're in an airport. (Just kidding... but not really..)
Anyway, so yesterday was my first full adventure into the great unknown in HK. I had the pleasure of hanging out with Scott and Jason. They showed me absolutely nothing! We basically just sat around in the apartment playing Mario Party and hitting the refresh page for new applications for the iphone... They said that was their ministry...
Just kidding, none of that happened. I just lied to you. I actually had the pleasure getting to walk around HK with them, where they showed me several different places in HK. We went through, what seemed like a hundred, different malls. Mainly because, just about every metro station that we got on, was connected to a mall. After going to various places, we wound up landing at Scott and Jason's favorite Turkish restaurant in HK. It was really awesome, we got tea (which was delicious) and played cards for awhile with the owner of the restaurant (Fatih), and then ate some great food later. It was really cool just hanging out there for awhile.
Afterwards, we eventually made it back to the apartment for an intense game of SETTLERS and RISK. And we all know what happens when you play board games, people start yelling and threatening to kill one another. Apparently, Mike (I don't think that's how you spell his name) didn't like the fact that I was staying with him, because from the beginning of SETTLERS to the end of RISK, we were out for each other! I imposed an embargo act on him, when we played SETTLERS and I would venture to say, I was out to get him in the game of RISK. All this to say, I enjoyed getting to hang out with Mike a lot!
It was a good day... can't wait to tell you about today (December 23th)
