HK (4)

Okay... so yesterday by far was my favorite day (note: it's only been three days here in Hong Kong so... they'll probably be better days to come...) here in HK.

We started out the day doing what we normally do every morning: Eating. By the way, meet my friend Jason, he's awesome. The past two mornings he's made me an extravagant breakfast. The first morning he made me sausage (which apparently is hard to come by here), egg, and cheese on an english muffin. And then the second morning he made me french toast. What a champ! Anyway, so that's how our day started and then we hung around the apartment for awhile. And then we (Jason, Scott, and myself) headed over to the metro/mall station and got a quick bite to eat. We then boarded the metro and met up with some local Chinese students and played basketball for awhile.

Now when I say, awhile, it was really a little bit longer than awhile. It was more like 2 hours, full court. Now, for some of you that sounds awesome (and it was). But for me, it was very very very very humbling. Mainly because I haven't done any sort of physical activity (sports) since this summer. I know what most of you (if not all of you) are thinking... "How can this be, John looks like Brad Pitt or Bruce Lee (for all you stereotypical labelers out there) all the time" and I would have to humbly say that I am not in shape.

After basketball Jason, Scott, and myself headed over back to the mall/metro and met up with one of their friends, Mike. Mike was hilarious. One of the goofous people I have met here in HK. We sat down at Ruby Tuesdays and shared wings and just talked it up for an hour or so. After getting to hang out with them awhile, we headed back to the apt. and showered up for movie night.

Movie night was awesome. We watched Elf. It was so much fun. I met some more mainland Chinese students (Dennis, Chris, Jevan, Justin, Joe, Lucia, Vivian, Everyday, Tina, and Polo). It was a ton of fun just getting to talk with them for awhile!

What a great day! This pretty much encompasses my entire day:

The Kingdom of Heaven is like a grain of mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his field. It is the smallest of all seeds but when it has grown it is larger than all the garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and make nest in its branches...
Matthew 13.31
